Michele Ann Murtaugh
In this series I am playing with time and space. The Scarf playfully floats across an uncluttered frame. At a distinct moment in time it encounters a figure. The fabric osculates the curves intimately rendering delicate movements and seduces the figure to form if only for a forever moment.

It tickles a fanny, seductively brushes a cheek, swirls around a waist, or caresses a breast and then makes it exit. What is unrevealed is obscure so inherently we are left to read between the lines. The figure, scarf, and barren canvas are character archetypes in my stories.
The spectrum of the plot extends from tumultuous passion to quiet yearning. The paintings elicit feelings of vulnerability, sensuality and power: All that encompasses the enigma that is woman.
